Toyota recently has dropped the bomb of another recall. Yes, you heard me right, another recall. Not all Japanese auto makers have issues, Bradenton Mazda can supply you with a safe vehicle that you can trust. This recall effects about two million vehicles world wide. Most of them are out of the United States but several hundred thousand vehicles are effected by this recall also. It is not on the Toyota brand itself, it is involving the luxury brand of Toyota, the Lexus. Astonishing that Toyota’s mishaps are still occurring and now it dribbles onto their brand that most say is all class. Just when things quiet down and you wonder if Toyota will bounce back after the tragic recalls of the past, more come out. And it involves something dangerous and research shows it is a manufacturing flaw.
Toyota has recalled about 1.7 million vehicles outside of North America. The recalls effect all other countries including Japan, Germany, New Zealand and United Kingdom. The models involved are the Gaia, Rav 4, Vista, Nadia, Opa, Caldina, Noah/Boxy, Premio/Boxy, Avensis, Wish and Isis. The two recalls that are detrimental involve a fuel issue. A delivery fuel pipe issue and the high pressure fuel pump check valve issue. Those two recalls are not for the United States and only for the listed above models. Call your dealer or check the website for more recall information.
In the United States, about 245,000 Lexus models are effected. From the year 2006 to present, involving the following models: Lexus GS 300/350, Lexus IS and the Lexus IS 250. Depending on what model does depend on what year the vehicle can be tracked back to with having an issue. The fuel pressure sensor installation might not have been done properly. So, you ask what this can do? Well, if not installed properly due to insufficient tightening that are connected to certain engine fuel delivery pipes, there is a possibility of loosening over time. Note that they are pointing out the Nickel Phosphorus plated pipes. If loosening occurs and fuel can leak out past a gasket between the sensor and delivery pipe through the threaded portion of the sensor. In the end, leaking fuel around anything hot can always ignite. If the technician does not find any leaking, just a simple torque applied is all your pretty little Lexus needs. If there is a leakage, the you have to have the gasket between the sensor and delivery pipe replaced, then also the threaded portion of the sensor. Looking for another vehicle might be a better decision, when looking for a dealer with great ratings, you can certainly check on Cox Mazda Dealership and see how they rate.
Once again, I ask, where were the engineers in all this? This recall does not pertain to the direct engineer but someone from the design to the manufacturing, dropped the ball. The worst is when there is recall after recall from Toyota. Yes, Toyota is doing everything in their part to make things right, but do they have any other choice now? They have been in the lime light for way too long on serious issues. They were on top, sales even in America showed how much we “loved” Toyota, now I think Toyota’s head swelled too big. They were proud beating out domestic automakers in their own country. I know Toyota dropped the ball big time, all along they were not as good as the persona was. Too many serious recalls, that can cause life altering events.
Will Toyota ever be trusted? Not by me, not again. It makes one consumer think about staying with domestic automakers, it is just closer to home.
