Coming soon to St. Louis Honda Dealers is the brand new, 2011 Honda Accord. The Accord can come with any three engines. There are two four cylinder models and a sportier V6. The four cylinder models can be paired with a five speed manual transmission or a five speed automatic. The V6 Accord Coupes are also available with a six speed manual.
The 2011 model has yet to be tested, but the almost identical 2010 model, which can be found at Honda Dealer Denver, received high scores. They received five stars in frontal driver, passenger and side driver impact tests. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the 2011 Accord it’s highest rating of “Good” for front, side and rear crash tests. It did however, only receive a score of “Acceptable” on rollover tests. Honda stated that it’s “Advanced Compatibility Engineering Structure” is the key to reducing forces sent to the cockpit. With this it is re-directing crash forces away from the passenger cabin.
The Accord comes standard with six airbags. They include head curtain airbags and dual-chamber side impact airbags which are designed to protect the pelvis and the torso. It also comes standard with Electronic Stability Control.
Now at Mitsubishi Manchester you can find the 2010 Mitsubishi Galant. It comes with a 2.4 liter inline four cylinder engine which creates 155 horsepower. It is paired with a four speed automatic transmission.

The 2010 Galant received five stars on all crash tests except one. It earned four stars for protecting driver in frontal impact. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Galant it’s highest score of “Good” in both frontal and side impact tests. They also received the worst score of “Poor” for it’s lack of ability to protect the drivers neck in a rear-impact crash.
The Galant comes standard with six airbags. They include frontal airbags for both the driver and front passenger, torso-protecting side impact airbags for front seat passengers and full length head curtain airbags to protect all occupants in a side collision. It also comes with four wheel anti-lock disc brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution and not to mention stability control.
Both of these vehicles are not to bad to purchase. But on a personal note, I would have to go with the Honda. It’s just never good when you receive a rating of “Poor” for protecting the drivers neck of all things.
