2011 Honda Insight blue 300x225 The Insight on The Prius!

The new 2011 Honda Insight, which can be purchased at Maryland Honda Dealer, is powered by an Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) System.  This system has an electric motor that creates acceleration power and produces like a generator to charge the battery during braking or coasting.  The Insights four cylinder engine and Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT), helps conserve fuel.

The Honda Insight from Connecticut Honda Dealership, received five stars in front and side driver crash tests, four stars in front passenger, side rear passenger and rollover two wheel drive crash tests.  The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the Insight it’s highest rating of “Good” in front offset and side impact crash tests.  This vehicle also comes standard with anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution, multiple threshold front airbags, front side airbags, LATCH, vehicle stability assist and side curtain airbags.2011 Toyota Prius black 300x199 The Insight on The Prius!

Another great vehicle to check out is the 2011 Toyota Prius, which can be found at Toyota Dealer Salt Lake City.  It comes with a 1.8 liter inline four cylinder engine as well as a 60-kilowatt electric motor.  The powertrain generates 134 horsepower and 105 pound feet of torque.  The Prius is estimated to get 51/48 mpg. city/highway.

Toyota has a pretty basic protection package, if you live in certain states.  California, Massachusetts, New  York, New Jersey, Vermont, Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island and New Mexico all get fifteen or 150,000 mile hybrid component warranty and a battery warranty for ten years or 150,000 miles.  Now if you live in any other states your protection package will only be eight years or 100,000 miles hybrid related component coverage.  The federal government gave the Prius four stars in front driver, front passenger, side passenger, and rollover crash scores.

The Toyota Prius comes standard with driver and front passenger advanced airbag system, driver and front passenger seat-mounted side airbags, driver knee airbags, along with front and rear side curtain airbags.  Toyota’s Star Safety System also comes standard on the Prius.  This system includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, traction control, anti-lock brakes with electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist.  Toyota has also installed an engine immobilizer.  This is used to prevent your vehicle from being stolen because the engine needs a special microchip that’s inside the key for the vehicle to start.

Both of these vehicles are wonderful vehicles to own.  They both have over the top safety features and not to mention they are great for the environment.  Go to your local dealership and test drive one or two, I’m sure you will find one that fit’s your style.
